Bear Valley Rescue: Horses for Sale


These are horses that need special homes and are listed for sale by their owners. Please contact the seller directly 
for more information or for photographs. If you have a horse you would like to list, that for some reason needs special 
care and is not saleable in the normal fashion, please email us the info and we will be glad to list it. (We would also 
appreciate a small donation if you can afford it, but it is not required). Please let us know if you find a home for it, 
so we can remove it from the list. Thanks Darlene for suggesting this list, to try to help keep these horses out of the 
auctions and away from the feedlots.

We will also have 'horses wanted' listed when someone has a home to offer. Thanks Melanie, for that suggestion. 


1. Registered part-morgan mare, 17 years old.  Broke to ride, feet and shots up to date, has an old ankle injury. 
The vet has said her ankle is partially fused, so she's good for light riding only. Asking $1500 or will trade for a broke kids
horse that would be suitable for jumping. Phone 403-844-4286

2. Gunner is a 2yr old buckskin gelding. He has had a saddle on him and a bit, and I've ridden him bareback 5 times. 
He is doing really well with me riding bareback. His ground work needs time to get better but he listens quite well. He would be

3. Razz is a percheron/Canadian filly. She is out of a grey Perchron mare from ALF ranch & Arthur black Canadian stallion. 
Would like $1,000 for her. She is about 16hh & is turning grey like her dam - muzzle,tail & mane are going grey, rest is still black.
Will be 3 in May. Also, to give away 1 gelding donkey.
To give away 3 llamas, female 4 yr old, 2 males 1 & 2.  These are all nice animals, can't keep due to personal problems,

4. Cracker is a 9 year old Thoroughbred gelding. Has been ridden on trails, nice and quiet, this guy is really easy to ride. 
He has a bump on his nose so he isn't the prettiest guy and he needs a home where he doesn't have to compete for food. (He can 
lose weight in large groups). I bought him for 1800.00, but will sell him for 1500.00 obo. I had his teeth done, he is good to

5. We have a beautiful 7 yr old Standardbred mare looking for a good home. She was a rescue mare, she was in very bad
condition when we got her and it was touch and go for a while. She has made a wonderful recovery and is in fantastic condition.
She has however got an old broken hip injury, vet said it probably happened in her racing days. She is not tender at all around
the injured site but she is not able to do any jumping and is best suited for light riding by a small adult or children. The cold
temps do affect her hip and we keep her blanketed at night and during the day if it is really cold. She is a big girl, 16.2 hh.
She loads and trailers really well. She is great for the farrier etc. She is a gentle giant. Looking for a good experienced home.
She will come with her winter blanket.
